A FEMALE British police officer has been found dead with a mystery head wound on her first day on holiday in Corfu.
The body of the 22-year-old cop was discovered on a side street near a bar in the early hours of Friday on a side street in the Greek resort of Kavos.

The young Brit was on the first day of her holiday on the island and went out with her colleague pal.
But when her friend decided to return to their hotel the 22-year-old stayed out, local media reported.
The woman, who was serving with Surrey Police, was later found by passersby near a main road with a mysterious wound to her head.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but the woman was pronounced dead.

Greek authorities have launched an investigation into the woman's death.
She had a head injury but a postmortem is underway to establish her cause of death, according to a report by the medical examiner.
It's believed the victim was bleeding for hours before being discovered, leading investigators to suspect she may have fallen and been knocked unconscious, local reports claim.
Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from venues in the area.

Surrey Police said: "Yesterday we were sadly made aware of the sudden death of a serving officer whilst they were on holiday in Corfu, Greece.
"We are working to support both their family and their colleagues here during this extremely difficult time.
"An investigation into the circumstances of the death is being led by the Greek authorities and we await further updates from them as they conduct their enquiries."
An FCDO spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British woman who has died in Greece and are in contact with the local authorities.”
