THE parent-teacher association of SJK (T) Taman Melawati in Kuala Lumpur was shocked to discover that its registration had been suspended by the school management, reported Malaysia Nanban.
PTA chairman I. Thangavelu said the association was slapped with a suspension without any warning
He said the school headmaster invited PTA members for a discussion on Dec 30 and handed them a letter notifying them of the suspension.
There was no explanation or reason given for the action, and there has been no feedback from the district and state education department either, he said.
Thangavelu added that with the headmaster having retired a day after giving the letter, it made the whole incident questionable.
PTA members spoke to the daily after submitting a memorandum to the Education Ministry on the matter last Friday.
The association will wait a week for a response from the ministry and the school management after which it will organise a demonstration in front of the school, he said.
The PTA urged the ministry to investigate the matter.
