JOHOR BARU: The Johor Health Department is still waiting for the results of further tests regarding the death involving a teenage girl who allegedly died after receiving a vaccine jab on Oct 8.
State Health director Datuk Dr Aman Rabu said to date, there have been no new developments related to the incident.
"There are no new updates. The details are still the same as in the statement issued earlier (on Saturday, Oct 23)," he told reporters after launching a statewide Covid-19 SOP compliance surveillance and smoking ban in eateries under the Control of Tobacco Products Regulations in Setia Tropika here on Monday (Oct 25).
According to reports, the department has refuted a viral post on social media linking the death of a 14-year-old girl with the Covid-19 vaccine.
Dr Aman had said that a post-mortem conducted on the teenager on Oct 8 found that there was a growth on her ovaries and anomalies in her heart.
"All tissue samples have been sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for further checks by forensic specialists.
"The results are expected to be received between Oct 24 and 28," he said in the earlier statement.
Dr Aman also said several other blood tests have been sent to the lab and are awaiting results.
