IPOH: The elderly man who went missing for 10 days while hiking at a hill near Puncak Jelapang near here died due to a heart attack, say police.

       Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said a post-mortem conducted at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital mortuary on Lau Sam, 85, found that the cause of death was due to myocardial fibrosis.

       Lau's body was reportedly found on Sunday (March 20) by two mountain guides at about 2.30pm.

       The body was only brought back down to the foot of the hill at about 3am on Monday (March 21).

       Sam had gone on a hiking trip with his friends on March 11.

       He was found missing at about 6.30pm when his friends realised he did not reach the foot of the hill.
