A vehicle driver died Wednesday night of injuries suffered during a hit-and run collision in Reston, county police said.
Officials did not immediately identify the person who was killed during the incident on the Fairfax County Parkway near the intersection with Walnut Branch Road, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital but later died, officials said.
Officers were searching for the driver of the “striking vehicle” in the incident, who ran from the scene, according to tweet from the department. Police only described the fleeing driver as a heavyset man with long hair who wore a black shirt.
