KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s Covid-19 cases dropped to below 1,000 for the first time in more than a month on Saturday (March 12).
Minister in charge of Covid-19 matters, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said a total of 796 new cases were recorded, which is a drop of 380 cases from Friday (March 11), but sporadic cases remain high at 65%.
“The last time we had less than a thousand daily cases was on Feb 4,” he said in his daily briefing here.
He said most districts have recorded a drop in the daily Covid-19 cases, whereas only eight districts - Beaufort, Sandakan, Kuala Penyu, Kota Marudu, Kudat, Nabawan, Kalabakan and Tongod - have recorded an increase.
Masidi said no new clusters were reported while the active Covid-19 clusters remain in 26 areas.
Of the new cases, he said over 97% or 779 were under Category 1 and 2; three under Category 3; 10 under Category 4; and four under Category 5.
