New stricter rules on foreign investment target deals with 'hostile states'
2022-01-04 00:00:00.0     每日快报-政治     原网页

The National Security and Investment Act will allow ministers to more closely scrutinise foreign ownership of sensitive defence and nuclear assets plus, among others, transport, communication, artificial intelligence and advanced robotics. Deals involving "hostile states", such as China and Russia, could be blocked and ministers can unwind existing deals.

Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng said: "We will not hesitate to step in where necessary to protect our national security."
