Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers, based in Queensland, Australia, posted a snap of the disguised creature, challenging their followers to a weekly game of ‘Spot the Snake Sunday’.

Team member Stu said: “Happy Sunday Everyone! It has been very up and down weather wise this week but the snakes have been all over the coast on the move looking for a partner, food, shelter or water!

“Spot the snake Sunday is fairly easy, but not handed to you. Let us know what you find and what snake it is. Enjoy the rest of your Snake Sunday!”

Dozens of users took to the comments section to share their guesses, with the majority unable to locate the slippery beast.

One person said: “Don’t see it, guess that one of several reasons I’m not a snake catcher.”

“Stu stop laughing at us and tell us where it is lol,” said another user.

Someone else commented: “I can’t see a tree snake but I’m pretty sure I see a carpet python at the bottom in between the centre and left side?

"They really are the masters of camouflage.” “I’m a bit worried that it looks exactly like the bush at the back of my house,” one nervous viewer said.

Another person quipped: “He’s just gone to McDonalds for breakfast…” Another user guessed that only “people with good eyes” would be able to spot the snake, while someone else said “maybe I shoulda gone to Specsavers”.

“Stu you love mind games,” someone else added. Another person commented: “Can’t see a snake. I have new glasses too.”

A team member later confirmed the snake was a coastal carpet python – commonly found in the area – located on a branch in the centre-left of the image.

It comes as another elusive python when Facebook users scratching their head.

Dozens of people took a crack at locating the serpent, but the task proved virtually impossible for some.

The image was shared by Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers, a professional snake-catching service in Queensland, Australia.

Challenging fans on social media to the weekly game of ‘Spot the Snake Sunday’, a team member said: “Happy Sunday Snake Spotters! Did you think we would leave you after a busy week without a spot the snake...

The serpent looked ready to pounce while a terrified possum was curled up in a corner.
