SUNGAI BULOH: The police are investigating a tweet claiming that police personnel allegedly extorted foreigners near a hypermarket in Kampung Baru Subang.

       Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Shafa'aton Abu Bakar said the police detected the viral tweet at 2.58pm on Monday (Jan 10).

       "The Twitter user claimed that some police personnel were extorting foreigners near a hypermarket in Kampung Baru Subang but the time and date were not explained properly.

       "Further checks revealed that the tweet has since been deleted," she said in a statement Wednesday (Jan 12).

       So far no police report has been lodged on the matter, she added.

       "We are investigating further and we urge those with information to contact the police as soon as possible," she said.
