After travelling to 60 countries down the years, Geraldine Joaquim has seen some of the most stunning sights the world has to offer, but there is one place that she has vowed never to visit again.
Having begun her jet-setting life whilst working in international marketing, the 54-year-old has continued to explore the world since, leaving the role to become a hypnotherapist and wellness coach.
Just last year she managed to fit in an impressive five trips abroad, travelling to Andorra, South Africa, Italy, Egypt and Belgium.
But, whilst admitting how 'lucky' she has been to have the oppurtunity to explore the world and getting "a good insight into different cultures", she admitted that there is one place that she would never step foot in again.
She recalled how she was required to spend a night in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas during a work trip, before then heading to Isla Margarita the next day.

She said: "It was probably one of my worst travel experiences. It felt pretty normal until I started waiting for the transfer, and waited and waited. I was there for hours and, as the small airport emptied, I realised I was alone."
However, as her transfer to the hotel finally arrived, she explained that her optimisim was short lived, as she added: "My phone wasn’t working, it was 1pm and there was no-one else around.
"So when a man showed up and said in broken English that he was here to take me to the hotel I was relieved. But as I got in the car, there was another man sitting in the front seat and my stress response went through the roof.
"I would never normally get in a car with two strange men but I had no other options, so I got a tiny pen knife from my hand luggage and spent the 30-minute journey on high alert with it clutched in my hand."

And, after finally arriving at her hotel for the night, and making her way back to the airport the next morning, her already unpleasant trip to the South American country looked like it was set to get even worse.
Soon after arriving at the airport, she was left having to chase after a young man after he quickly whisked away her bags, only for her to later find out that he was actually offering a paid 'check in service', which she later discovered that she had to pay for.
Geraldine said she reluctantly handed over some cash and checked in for the onward flight – luckily, the return journey only involved a short lay-over at Caracas airport before flying back home to the UK.
