KUALA LUMPUR: Bersatu supreme leadership council member Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali describes the idealism and principles of the party’s struggle as his identity.
The Senior Minister said this in a statement Friday (June 17), in which he also expressed thanks to party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for the latter’s confidence in Azmin’s commitment to Bersatu as a political platform to continue fighting for the people.
"We will continue to work together with all members of Bersatu to develop a government that is clean, transparent, with integrity and committed to upholding the principles of good governance and to fight for social justice for the common prosperity of all the people,” the International Trade and Industry Minister said.
Meanwhile, Malaysiakini reported that sources had said a meeting between Azmin and two PKR emissaries had takeen place on Wednesday (June 15) at the Sheraton Hotel in Petaling Jaya.
The news portal quoted a source as saying that the meeting lasted about an hour.
On Tuesday (June 14), Muhyiddin clarified that rumours of several Bersatu members, including Azmin and Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon quitting the party were baseless. - Bernama
