KUALA LUMPUR: Integrated car e-commerce platform Carsome has launched its Carsome Certified Lab, reportedly the largest car refurbishment facility in South-East Asia, for transforming pre-owned, or used cars, to “as good as new”.
Spanning over 185,000 sq ft, the state-of-the-art facility is able to refurbish up to 2,000 Carsome Certified cars per month.
Carsome Certified Malaysia general manager Alan Cheah said each car would go through a detailed and technical 175-point inspection to ensure that it is free of frame, fire, flood and major accident damages.
“We have guidelines which are quantifiable and measurable for all Carsome Certified cars which involve an end-to-end refurbishment process. We have high production capability, technology and experienced specialists and are able to refurbish up to 30 car brands.
“It also comes with a one-year warranty,” he said at a virtual media briefing in conjunction with the facility launch yesterday.

Cheah said prices are fixed and there are no hidden fees, as the company wants to build trust and transparency. The price includes road tax fee, Puspakom inspection fee, ownership transfer fee and loan application fee.
“However, if the customer decides to change his mind, we have a five-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked, which means you can return the car within five days and we will process (it) accordingly,” said Cheah.
Meanwhile, Carsome Certified chief executive officer Mei Han said the Carsome Certified Lab will be expanded in the next 12 months to include Thailand and Indonesia. — Bernama
