Conditions set for inbound, outbound; Airlines briefed

       KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: Sources at the Kuwait International Airport said inbound passengers who are fully vaccinated, partly vaccinated and not vaccinated will be treated on par with citizens and the decision will be implemented as of Sunday.

       Those who are fully vaccinated the following conditions apply — cancellation of the ‘PCR’ test before arriving in the country; cancellation of the PCR test upon arrival in the country and cancellation of the home quarantine after arriving in the country.

       Those who are partly vaccinated – cancellation of the ‘PCR’ test before arriving in the country; commitment to home quarantine for 7 days after arrival, with the possibility of ending the quarantine before time if a ‘PCR’ test is performed, confirming the person is virus free.

       Those who are not vaccinated — conducting a ‘PCR’ test 72 hours before taking the flight to ensure the traveler is free of infection with the Corona virus; mandatory home quarantine for 7 days after arrival and taking a PCR test on the seventh day to end the quarantine provided the person is free of virus and children under the age of 16 are excluded from this requirement.

       The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation, in a circular addressed to all airlines operating at the Kuwait International Airport, had said entry for non-vaccinated people was limited to citizens only. According to the instructions of the health authorities, “all passengers are allowed to leave without any health requirements related to the coronavirus, provided they meet conditions of the country to which they are leaving for.”

       Meanwhile, special statistics prepared by the daily shows citizens who did not receive the anti-Corona virus vaccine or received just one dose are classified as not vaccinated but still can travel to 45 countries. According to information obtained from official sources or embassies in Kuwait, the majority of these countries require only a negative PCR test before entering while some others insist on negative PCR test and mandatory quarantine after arrival while the third category of the countries allow foreigners to enter without any conditions.

       The countries that do not impose any conditions to enter their countries are Norway and Jordan. The countries that require PCR test include Turkey, UAE, Netherlands, Egypt, Russia, Switzerland, Syria, Lebanon, Portugal, Seychelles, Algeria, Angola, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Guinea, Senegal, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Poland, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Mexico, India and Bangladesh. Countries that ask for PCR test + mandatory quarantine are Romania, France, Georgia, Italy, Thailand, Britain, Qatar, Tunisia, Cyprus and Sri Lanka.
