COVID reported daily deaths fell to 49 in the past 24 hours as cases climbed by 19 per cent in a week.
There were 36,100 new coronavirus infections recorded in today's figures, up from 30,283 cases last Monday.

In total, 7,465,448 people in the UK have now tested positive for the virus since last year.
Today's reported death toll of 49 was down from last Monday's figure of 61.
The overall death toll from coronavirus since the pandemic struck stands at 135, 252.
Yesterday saw just 14,586 new first doses of the vaccine given, with a further 35,151 second jabs adminstered.
CASES RISE
Almost 90 per cent of Brits aged 16 or over have had one dose of the vaccine, with almost 82 per cent double jabbed.
It comes as the rollout of Covid jabs for kids aged 12-15 started today across the UK, with up to three million kids being eligible for the shot.
The programme will be delivered primarily through schools up and down the country.

Booster jabs are also being rolled out in order to target waning immunity in those who had their vaccines during the first stages of the rollout.
Kids getting their vaccines will receive a single dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.
Meanwhile, it was announced that holidays to the US will be back on within weeks.
Double jabbed visitors from the UK and the EU will allowed back to the States from November.
Foreign travellers will need to demonstrate proof of vaccination before boarding, as well as proof of a negative Covid test taken within three days of flying.
Fully vaccinated passengers won't need to quarantine when they land in the US.
Boris Johnson said he was "delighted" and hailed the breakthrough as "a fantastic boost for business and trade, and great that family and friends on both sides of the pond can be reunited once again".
The announcement came ahead of talks between the PM and Joe Biden at the White House on Tuesday.
Mr Johnson had been furiously lobbying for the restrictions behind the scenes - branding them senseless.
