IPOH: Section 27 of Jalan Simpang Pulai-Blue Valley, which was closed off following a landslide incident that killed two people earlier this month, is now reopened to traffic, says Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun.
However, the Perak infrastructure committee chairman said this status could still change, pending risk assessment and justification by the Public Works Department from time to time.
"We advise road users to be careful and to pre-plan their journeys while using the road," he said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 16).
There had been conflicting information earlier when the Kinta district Public Works Department posted on its Facebook page on Wednesday (Dec 15) that the stretch of road would remain fully closed as it was still unsafe for vehicles.
Zolkafly had reportedly said on Wednesday that the road was expected to be reopened on Friday (Dec 17).
On Dec 2, a lorry driver and another motorist were killed after their vehicles were buried under heaps of soil during the landslide.
