The Duchess of Sussex will be working with Elton John’s husband, David Furnish, to bring Pearl to life. The animated series will focus on the life of a young girl who is “inspired by influential women from history."
The filmmaker took to Instagram to share his excitement about co-producing the series with Prince Harry’s wife.
In the statement, he said that he and the Duchess shared a “passion” for highlighting the inspirational endeavours of women from around the world.
He wrote: “I am delighted that we are finally able to announce this exciting animated series.
“Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex and I are deeply passionate about bringing the inspirational and positive stories of extraordinary women from around the world to a global audience of all ages.
“The team collaborating on the series are first class, and @netflix are the perfect partner.”
Fans of the duo commented on the post congratulating them on their new venture together.
One person said: “I cannot wait to see what both of you sweet brilliant souls created together!”
Another user added: “Smart woman. She’s in safe, talented, trustworthy hands.”
Meghan also addressed the good news in a statement published on Archewell Productions’ website.
