KUALA LUMPUR: The 12th Malaysia Plan is expected to be passed in the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (Oct 7), says Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

       "The debate in the Dewan Rakyat was heated and many MPs had interjected while the ministers were winding up.

       "Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, who is responsible for handling the 12MP, is currently delivering his wind-up speech.

       "It is expected to be passed today," the Transport Minister said in a Facebook post Thursday.

       A total of 106 MPs from the government and Opposition blocs took part in the debate on the12MP after its tabling by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Sept 27.

       Among the issues raised by the MPs during the four-day debate, which began on Sept 28, were health, Covid-19 vaccines, development for Sabah and Sarawak, poverty, post-Covid-19 impact and the country's water supply management.
