PETALING JAYA: Covid-19 hospital admission rates in the Klang Valley and Sarawak have been increasing in the last seven days, says Khairy Jamaluddin.
The Health Minister tweeted a screenshot of the data from the CovidNow portal, which showed a 22% increase in the Klang Valley and a 16% increase in Sarawak.
Khairy said as current developments showed increasing hospital admissions, the Health Ministry will ramp up its analysis and surveillance.
The tweet on Thursday (Oct 21), showed an increase of 23% in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur (12%) and Putrajaya (5%).
As of Wednesday (Oct 20), Malaysia recorded 5,516 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the number of cumulative infections in the country to 2,407,382.
