A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder in the killing of his family member in Prince George’s County this month, police said.
The teen, of Washington, is charged as an adult with first- and second-degree murder and related counts in the fatal shooting of Jammi Cooper, 36, of Washington, police said. He is in custody in D.C. and awaiting extradition to Prince George’s, according to police.

Police did not name the teen.
Officers found Cooper around 10:50 p.m. on Oct. 5 with gunshot wounds outside in the 4100 block of Southern Avenue in the Capitol Heights area, police said. He later died at a hospital.
Police said that according to an initial investigation, the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the teen and Cooper.
It was not immediately clear whether the teen has an attorney.
