A woman found dismembered in a park in Maryland last month was identified as a 21-year-old from Gaithersburg, the FBI said Thursday.
On June 12, Joanna Michelle Amaya, also known as Dior Reyes, was found dead in Catoctin Mountain Park in Thurmont, Md., after authorities responded to reports of hikers finding a portion of her body off a trail in the national park, the FBI said in a statement.

Amaya was identified by joint efforts of the FBI and the Baltimore medical examiner’s office, the statement said, but the cause of her death has yet to be determined.
When her remains were found, according to the statement, she was wearing a black track suit, a wrist guard, and red Nike shoes, and was found with a Puma handbag and a set of keys containing an El Salvador keychain.
No further information was released.
