Armed cops swooped on Crawley College after receiving reports of a masked man brandishing a gun in the car park.
Police snipers, counter-terror cops and officers from three police units also stormed the college during the horror in April last year.
The siege ended when hero lecturers Peter Davidson and Simon Wilson ran towards Dreimanis and rugby-tackled him to the ground.
They managed to apprehend him despite sustaining stab wounds until officers came to arrest the teen.
Dreimanis is now facing jail after admitting possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear.
He previously pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of possession of a bladed article on school premises.

Lewes Crown Court heard how Dreimanis walked onto the campus wearing a black mask and hoodie and pulled the imitation weapon out.
He then began firing at his fellow students causing them to flee.
Elise Stellebotte said: "He was telling people: ‘Run, run.
"It all was pretty terrifying.”
Police recovered a blank firing handgun and a knife after Dreimanis was arrested shortly after 3.20pm.
They later praised the two lecturers who helped apprehend the student.
Chief Inspector Shane Baker, of the Crawley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I’d personally like to thank everyone who helped to quickly bring this incident to a safe conclusion, especially the two members of college staff whose heroics have not gone unnoticed.
“They put themselves in harm’s way in order to protect their students, fellow employees and the wider public, and I am hugely grateful for their quick-thinking actions.”
Dreimanis will be sentenced in March.
