KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a man who allegedly threatened the life of a computer salesperson following an earlier encounter.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said in a statement on Monday (May 30) that the suspect had approached the complainant with a knife, and had intentions of hurting him.
"The incident at 12.30am today occurred at an eatery in Pandan Indah. The suspect was angry and pointed a knife at the complainant.
"The incident was believed to have been caused after the complainant previously spoke to the suspect but was told to not meddle in the suspect's affairs.
"An arrest was made at 1am today at Jalan Pandan Indah and the knife that was used was also seized," he said.
It is leant that the complainant told the suspect not to steal his mother's money.
The suspect, with eight prior criminal offences on his record, has been remanded until Thursday (June 2).
The case is being investigated for criminal intimidation.
