Shingo Katori

       TOKYO -- Shingo Katori, a former member of now-disbanded Japanese all-male band SMAP, has married, he announced through his agency on Dec. 28.

       The 44-year-old former member of the popular band reportedly married a woman who is not a figure in the entertainment industry.

       "I'd like to continue my work earnestly and ask everyone for their support," Katori was quoted as saying. He has already reportedly registered his marriage.

       Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, 47, a fellow former member of SMAP who left major entertainment agency Johnny & Associates Inc. together with Katori to participate in the group "Atarashii Chizu," similarly married a non-celebrity woman at the end of December 2020.
