SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan police are looking for an individual to help in their investigation of an allegedly fraudulent land transfer case that resulted in a RM22mil loss.
State Commercial CID head Supt Aibee Ab Ghani said they are seeking one Chua Seng Keat, 61, whose last known address is in Kota Damansara in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, for assistance.
He said they were acting on a report by a businessman who recently discovered that a piece of land under his company's name had been transferred to an unknown individual after a search was done at the Land and Mines Office at Wisma Negri Sembilan on Oct 15 last year.
"An individual had affixed a fake signature to all the documents related to the land swap without the knowledge of the complainant, which resulted in a RM22mil loss,” he said in a statement on Friday (Dec 17).
He added that the case was being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact investigating officer ASP Rosmaliah Khalit at 013-9443968. – Bernama
