KOTA TINGGI: A landslide has occurred near Taman Perumahan Bukit Pelali, Pengerang, believed to be caused by the continuous heavy rain in the district.
Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora said the landslide occurred on a 105m cliff and has occurred once before.
"The first incident occurred in January last year, and right now the road has been closed for investigations by the housing developers.
"The incident did not involve any victims or cause any harm to the residents nearby," he said in a statement here on Sunday (Jan 2).
He added that the incident occurred at about 1pm on Sunday.
Supt Hussin also shared that there are 14 flood victims who are people under Home Surveillance Order that have been moved to the Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Telok Ramunia.
"Only one road, Jalan Lok Heng near Sungai Semalok, has been flooded, and it is only open to heavy vehicles," he added.
