PETALING JAYA: Residents of Kampung Baru Lam Lee in Yong Peng, Johor, got together to prepare a school which will be used to vaccinate more than 200 people from around that neighbourhood.
Armed with brooms and hand tools, residents and volunteers joined MCA division leaders, members of the SJKC Lam Lee school board and parent-teacher association to clean the school grounds.
They also made other arrangements to create a comfortable space for those coming to get their shots between 8am and 3pm on Monday (June 28).
MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said all those coming to get vaccinated have already accepted their appointments via MySejahtera and the vaccination will be carried out under the mobile vaccination programme.
“I have also arranged for larger public vaccination centres to be set up in Yong Peng while the mobile vaccination unit will make its way to smaller areas that are situated farther away from the public vaccination centres,” said Dr Wee who is also Ayer Hitam MP.
Dr Wee posted pictures of volunteers preparing the mobile vaccination centre on his Instagram account where his followers praised their efforts.
