PETALING JAYA: The PKR national congress this month should be postponed if unofficial party polls results were not audited, says Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.

The former Perak PKR chief said it was fair that his calls for an audit were acknowledged by party election committee head Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

Farhash said if unverified delegates had attended the upcoming party congress later this month, it could cause confusion, as these members will be voting in leaders to the party's central leadership committee.

"I urge all investigations and forensic audits on the party polls results to be expedited, so that official results can be verified before the national congress.

"Otherwise, I feel it is fair to postpone the national congress until we can verify the delegates who are attending," said Farhash in a statement on Facebook Thursday (June 2).

Farhash also said if manipulation or any cheating was found, PKR must be fair and take action against those involved.

"It is clear that change must happen in the structure and process of the party polls in future.

"We cannot practise an election process that is seen as not transparent and exposed to manipulation."

Zaliha had said PKR would decide within a week if it needs to audit the recent unofficial party polls results.

Official results of the PKR polls will be announced at the party's congress on June 25 and 26.
