The shocking admission came as the former MP for Montgomeryshire slammed the bloc for their "disgraceful" behaviour over the Brexit negotiation process and their decision to blockade vital vaccine supplies in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic.

       Mr ？pik said: “I voted remain on a marginal call.

       “But ever since that vote came in I wouldn’t vote the same way now…

       “Because I think the European Union has acted disgracefully in trying to punish us for making a decision!”

       He suggested the bloc’s behaviour is intended as a “warning sign to Italy and Greece” as he slammed the EU for its treatment of Britain.

       Mr ？pik hammered: “So I would change my vote now!”

       The former Welsh Liberal Democrat leader added how another reason he would vote leave is because of the “moaning” from the remain camp.

       He noted: “One thing I really dislike is the moaning from many in politics!

       “Who think they can re-run the referendum until you get the right answer!”

       Lembit ？pik served as Member of Parliament for Montgomeryshire in Wales from 1997 until he lost his seat at the 2010 general election.

       He was the leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats from 2001 to 2007.

       The UK voted to leave the European Union on June 23rd, 2016.

       The leave vote won with a majority of 51.9 percent, the remain achieved 48.1 percent of the vote.

       Turnout for the referendum was just under 72 percent.

       The timetable was set the following year on March 29th, when the then British Prime Minister Theresa May took the formal step to start the exit process.

       This was done by triggering Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.

       The UK finally left the EU on January 1, 2021 after 47 years of membership.
