KLUANG: A win in Paloh for Barisan Nasional will ensure that more economic developments will come to the area, says Sembrong Umno MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
To achieve this, he called on Barisan grassroots members to rally behind “Ah Lee” - MCA's candidate Lee Ting Han for Paloh.
Hishammuddin said he came straight to Paloh yesterday ahead of a meeting with Barisan election director Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, who is also Umno deputy president.
Kahang and Paloh state seats are in the Sembrong parliamentary seat.
“In Sembrong, we don’t see colour, religious differences or background. With these strengths, I hope we can close ranks and work hard to win,” he said after introducing Lee to Barisan grassroots leaders and members at Kampung Muhibbah here Wednesday (March 2).
In his speech to the party members, Hishammuddin said Lee, 32, has a great chance to win Paloh, adding that Barisan lost by only 700 votes to the opposition in the last general election.
"With help from Umno and MIC, I believe we can win and bring a better, comprehensive development programme for Paloh," he added.
Hishammuddin told reporters later that he has instructed his election machinery to refrain from sabotage or negative campaigning.
