Results begin trickling in again with Blackburn with Darwen, Walsall, Broxbourne, and Havant expected to declare.

Tees Valley - Tory incumbent Ben Houchen is hoping for a third term as mayor. An upset would spell disaster for Rishi Sunak and likely reignite speculation over his leadership.

       Trending

       From 2pm

Basildon - has a small Tory majority and has not been run by Labour since 2000. But there have been signs the tide could be turning. Hyndburn is currently under no overall control, with the Tories as the largest party and Labour in second place.

Brentwood, Knowsley, Nuneaton & Bedworth, Rochdale and Rossendale could declare around now. In Solihull, the Conservatives are defending a small majority but the next largest party are the Greens. Only a third of seats are up for election, which is enough to tip the council into no overall control.

East Midlands - Tory MP Ben Bradley is battling to become mayor on top of his role as Nottinghamshire County Council leader. Claire Ward, the former MP for Watford, is trying to win it for Labour.

       From 3pm

Kirklees - Labour are hoping to hold onto to the thin majority they won in just two years ago.

Hastings - Labour will want to make gains after losing the party to no overall control in 2022.

Three Rivers - the Liberal Democrats will want to hold on, as the only party to win a majority there since 1988. Results should come in from Barnsley, Trafford, Sandwell, Halton, Milton Keynes and Maidstone around now.

The result of the first York and North Yorkshire mayoral race is expected around now.

       From 4pm

Results will start to pour in now. The Tories will find out if they've clung onto a thin majority in Adur while Labour will hope to maintain their grip on Calderdale.

Pendle - no party has overall control. The Tories are the largest party, followed by Labour, and Starmer's party would have been hoping to tip the balance.

There should be a flurry of results from Bury, Cheltenham, Epping Forest, St Albans, Tamworth, Tunbridge Wells, Woking, and Leeds.

Swindon - Labour dramatically won control from the Tories last year. Labour's majority is small so the Tories will be keen to flip it back.

Wokingham - the Liberal Democrats will be battling to remain the largest party, after overtaking the Tories last year. If the Lib Dems make gains then they could take full control for the first time since 1997.

Dudley - Labour has been winning seats in recent years and Keir Starmer chose to launch the party's local election campaign here. The whole council is up for grabs.

       From 6pm

The last few results from Friday will be starting to come through in Mole Valley, North Hertfordshire, Stevenage and Elmbridge. In Reigate and Banstead, the Tories are the largest party after the council went into no overall control. Opposition parties are unlikely to overtake them.

       From 7pm until 10pm

The last few of the councils left to declare on Friday evening - Dorset, Wakefield, West Lancashire and finally Gloucester - are expected between 7pm and 10pm.
