Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred early Monday morning on Interstate 55.
At approximately 3:39 a.m., a 25-year-old woman was driving in a Blue Honda CRV heading southbound on the interstate. Just south of Cicero Avenue, the woman unexpectedly lost control of the car, which left the roadway and overturned at the center median, according to state police.
The woman, who was identified as Huda Alghazali , was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The passenger, who was identified as Mohammad Musa, 23, was also taken to a local hospital where he had non-life-threatening injuries.
All lanes were closed for an hour.
