KULAI: Police have received a report regarding a viral video that showed multiple luxury cars stopping in the middle of a highway near KM34, the North-South Expressway (NSE), near the Sedenak flyover.
Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said initial investigations revealed that the incident occurred at about 6.10pm last Friday (March 18), after a 4x4 Ford Ranger crashed into a Lamborghini.
"The Ford driver had tried to cut off the Lamborghini in a zig-zag pattern.
"The driver of the Lamborghini tried to evade by going to the left side of the road but was run into.
"This led to a scuffle between the two drivers before the whole convoy of luxury vehicles decided to stop in the middle of the road," he said in a statement here on Sunday (March 20).
He added that the case was being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting, which carries a two-year imprisonment or fine.
The case was also being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving recklessly and dangerously, which carries five years of imprisonment and a fine of RM15,000.
Asked whether the driver of the Ford was drunk, Supt Tok said that investigations into the matter were still ongoing.
Earlier, a 20-second video of the incident went viral on social media, showing a convoy of Lamborghini being cut off by a Ford Ranger.
