ISKANDAR PUTERI: A man was killed and two others injured after their vehicles collided at Jalan Bistari 1/5, Taman Nusa Bistari here on Thursday (Nov 4).

       Iskandar Puteri Fire and Rescue Department operations commander senior officer Mohammad Anuar Mohamad Amdzah said that the incident occurred at 3.02pm Thursday.

       "The victims are identified as Richard Albus, who is in his 40's; Ling Su Hiong, 56; and Lina Cheow Wen Fong, 22.

       "Initial investigations revealed that Richard had lost control of his vehicle and entered the opposite lane, colliding with the car driven by Lina," he said Friday (Nov 5).

       He added that the department had deployed two fire trucks and one Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) van with 17 personnel to the location.

       All victims were sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) for treatment.

       Meanwhile, Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the male victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

       "The man suffered a serious injury to his head and body while the two others suffered minor injuries.

       "Our investigations revealed that the man was heading towards Nusa Bestari from Bukit Indah before veering into the opposite lane and colliding with another vehicle," he said.

       The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road and Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.
