ISKANDAR PUTERI: A 42-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) at KM1.4 along the Second Link Expressway here.

       Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Rahmat Ariffin said the incident occurred northbound along the expressway at around 12.20pm on Friday (March 8).

       “The incident happened when the MPV made a U-turn heading back to Singapore. The motorcycle could not avoid it in time and hit the right side of the vehicle.

       “This caused the motorcyclist to suffer serious head injury where he died at the scene. The MPV driver, together with four of its passengers, did not suffer any injuries,” he said here on Friday.

       ACP Rahmat added that the victim’s body has been sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Baru for a post-mortem.

       He said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death due to reckless and dangerous driving.
