PETALING JAYA: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) officials implicated in an ongoing Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigation over alleged abuse of power and mismanagement, have filed police reports denying any wrongdoing earlier on Sunday (Feb 6).

They claimed the complaints against them were a distraction from a board member’s wrongdoings.

On Saturrday (Feb 5), the MACC confirmed that an investigation into the allegations is underway following a document leak.

According to Berita Harian, the five filed the reports at the Dang Wangi police station.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya confirmed the reports and that investigations are underway.

On Friday (Feb 4), Mara chairman Datuk Seri Azizah Mohd Dun said it has begun further investigations into Mara Corp to review relevant documents to ensure that the company's management is always based on good governance.

She said this follows the unauthorised dissemination of internal administrative documents to the public, which has evoked a negative perception of Mara and its related subsidiaries.
