All classes and after-school programs at Naperville North have been canceled as police investigate a bomb threat made to the high school.
Naperville School District 203 officials initially announced about 8:30 a.m. that classes would be postponed but a decision was made about an hour and a half later to close the school for the rest of the day so Naperville police could continue their investigation.
The threat came via email Wednesday morning, district spokesperson Alex Mayster said.
Naperville police were not available for comment.
Parents, students and staff were alerted via posts on the district’s website and social media pages. Many had not yet arrived because classes were not to start till 9 a.m., district officials said.

Anyone already at school was transported to Naperville Central High School so their parents could pick them up or transportation arranged, officials said.
No one is being allowed inside the building other than those involved in the investigation, Mayster said. The district will not comment further while the investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday will be a day off for students and no e-learning is planned although teachers with access to the district’s online platform may post assignments there, officials said. No decision has been made as to whether school will be in session Thursday.
“The school will remain closed until the Naperville Police Department and our administration have deemed it safe to resume classes,” the district’s first morning announcement said. “If you have not left for school yet, please remain home until you receive an all clear to attend message. Please do not come to campus.”
