KOTA KINABALU: The RM300,000 allocation for all MPs came as a surprise under the Prime Minister's RM150mil Pemulih package, says Sabah opposition MP Chan Foong Hin.

       "Of course I did not expect such a concession from the government. I welcome the RM300,000 food basket allocation channelled to the offices of all MPs regardless of the political divide,” said the Kota Kinabalu MP.

       The Sabah DAP secretary said when contacted on Monday (June 28) that many opposition MPs have already taken action to raise their own funds for food baskets for people in dire need since June 1.

       On the Pemulih package announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, he said the package is less than the RM250 billion Prihatin package announced last March.

       However, he said it was timely for the re-introduction of the moratorium on loans for all experiencing problems with their cash flow.
