The fact the monarch, 95, doesn’t indulge in the messy campfire snack came as no surprise to fans on social media. It emerged during a visit to a community space run by the Children’s Wood Charity in Glasgow, The Daily Mail's Rebecca English revealed on Twitter account.

According to Ms English the Queen and Princess Anne joined some of the children by the campfire, however, when one of the children offered the Queen a marshmallow to roast on the fire, she responded with: “No, that’s very kind of you.”

This isn’t the only unhealthy food the Queen refuses to eat.

According to Darren McGrady, formerly Royal head chef, Her Majesty never indulged in pizza in his 11 years at the Palace.

He said the Queen prefers French cuisine which means Italian dishes like pizza aren't served in the palace.

Alongside Princess Anne, Her Majesty also paid a visit to leading space tech companies in Scotland.

They visited Skypark in Glasgow and spoke to the staff from AAC Clyde Space.

Her Majesty toured the building and received an overview on AAC Clyde Space’s latest services, missions and new satellites.

The company specialises in the development of advanced satellites for the purpose of collecting data for naval surveillance, weather forecasting and environmental monitoring.

The data collected by the Scotland manufactured satellites is used in everyday life – it is used for weather forecasting and even precision farming.

The company designed and created UKube-1, Scotland’s first satellite and a pilot project of the UKSA (United Kingdom Space Agency), and has since launched ten home grown Glasgow satellites.

Seven satellites are currently in production at the Glasgow site.

Dr Graham Turnock, UKSA chief executive, told Satnews UK’s ambitions are to be a global leader in the space industry.

“From space-based earth observation and data analysis to world-class satellite design and manufacture, Scotland is pivotal to the UK’s ambitions in space,” he said.

“I’m delighted that Her Majesty the Queen and Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal have chosen to visit space businesses today, and I hope they will be as thrilled as I am about this extraordinary success story for Scotland.”
