       KUWAIT CITY, June 6: The Jahra Committee in the Municipal Council, during its meeting yesterday chaired by Abdullah Al-Enezi, rejected the request to allocate the Al-Darkal site for the two residential cities of South Al-Mutla’a and Nawaf Al-Ahmad, reports Al-Anba daily. Al-Enezi said the Municipal Council member Eng Alia Al-Farsi’s proposal to allocate land for date palm cultivation in the north of the country has been referred to the executive body for its technical opinion and coordinate with the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fisheries Resources.

       Al-Enezi added the committee returned the request of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to move the site of the Ibn Taymiyyah Mosque in the Sulaibiya area, Plot 1, to the executive body, and it also returned to the body the proposal submitted by member Abdullah Al-Anzi regarding traffic congestion in the city of Sa’ad Al-Abdullah, in order to update the response. It kept on its agenda the request to cancel the decision to build an airport in the northern region He indicated that the committee returned to the executive body the proposal submitted by member Abdullah Al-Enezi, regarding the allocation of land for the purpose of establishing a slaughterhouse to serve the residents of Kabad area and camel farms in order to address the concerned authorities, indicating that the committee approved the request of the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport to build open basins to collect rainwater and a canal for underground water connection, dirt berms, and paths for rainwater drainage around the Salmi housing development area.

       He stated that the committee also approved the request of PART to allocate open collection basins, open water channels, underground water connections, earth mounds, and paths for collecting and draining rainwater around Al-Naayem and Al-Naayem industrial areas.
