JOHOR BARU: Datuk Noorazam Osman (pic) has been officially unveiled as the 13th Johor Baru Mayor.
Noorazam, who is former Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor chief executive officer, replaced Datuk Adib Azhari Daud, who is currently under remand by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for alleged bribery.
"Congratulations and welcome to Noorazam for his appointment as the 13th Johor Baru mayor," Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) announced in a Facebook post on Sunday (Aug 15).
Adib Azhari will be remanded until Monday (Aug 16), to aid investigations into alleged bribery involving project approvals at the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP).
The 60-year old Adib Azhari was Iskandar Puteri mayor from Nov 22, 2017 to Nov 16, 2019. He became Johor Baru mayor on Nov 17, 2019.
