PETALING JAYA: Operators of the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) have opened up a median at KM47.8 for road users to make emergency U-turns following the flash floods on Monday (March 7) afternoon.
A Kesas Sdn Bhd spokesman said more medians would be opened if necessary.
Water levels could be seen displacing traffic along parts of the highway at the Awan Besar and Kota Kemuning toll plazas, with videos on social media even showing motorists abandoning their cars to seek shelter under an overpass by the highway.
The spokesperson added that water levels at the overflow of water from Sungai Kuyoh had stabilised and water levels are starting to recede at the Awan Besar toll plaza.
