KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: The Kuwaiti Embassy in the United Kingdom (UK) denied the rumor that the British government issued a decision to exempt travelers from ‘orange’ or medium-risk countries from home quarantine, including Kuwaitis who have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus, reports Al-Qabas daily. In a press statement, the embassy stressed the need for all travelers from Kuwait to abide by the British authorities’ decision to undergo home quarantine for 10 days; warning that failure to comply could lead to legal problems including fine ranging from GBP1,000 to GBP10,000.

The embassy also underscored the need to pay for two PCR tests prior to arrival in the UK, through any of the laboratories approved by the British authorities. It added the first PCR test should be conducted on the second day of arrival and the other test on the eighth day to end the home quarantine, if the result is negative. It clarified that travelers can reduce the home quarantine period if an additional PCR test is conducted on the fifth day and provided the result is negative, indicating this optional test should be booked in advance as well — before traveling.
