QUETTA: The Balochistan government on Thursday approved the merger of the Hub Levies Force into the police to improve the law and order situation.
The decision was announced in an official notification issued by the Home and Tribal Affairs Department, which said authorities had formally approved the plan.
“All command, authority, and administrative control of the Hub Levies will now fall directly under the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Hub district,” the notification said.
The integration meant all personnel of the Levies force will now be considered part of the Balochistan police.
Force given under command of district SP; salaries to be funded through police budget
Their salaries, benefits and other administrative matters will be managed through the district police budget.
The government said the decision was taken to create an efficient and unified security system.
The integration will bridge the gap between police and Levies, improve coordination, enable faster response, and strengthen law enforcement presence.
“This step is aimed at improving law and order through better coordination and response across the district,” the notification said.
With the merger now in effect, all security-related operations and law enforcement actions in the district will be conducted under the centralised command of the police.
