PETALING JAYA: FGV Holdings Bhd plans to appoint an independent auditor by next month to carry out the audit work for signs of forced labour accusations on the advice of US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, FGV said it is currently working with a US-based legal counsel to finalise the terms and conditions for the appointment.
“FGV is committed to taking all the necessary steps towards lifting the withhold release order (WRO), including the appointment of an independent auditing firm to conduct an assessment of FGV’s operations against the 11 International Labour Organisation (ILO) Indicators of Forced Labour, as advised by the CBP,” FGV said.
