       CELEBRITY presenter Datuk Aznil Nawawi continues to stand a cut above as a television host at the age of 60 and still receives various job offers, reported Harian Metro.

       Aznil said he was grateful for every offer received and believes he has his unique way of winning the hearts of others.

       “I will give more than what I signed up for in the contract. If another entertainer is asked to do more work, he will often refuse and say it is not what was agreed in the contract.

       “Although those who hire me don’t ask for more than what is agreed, this is what I’m used to,” he said.

       Aznil said he is currently a health supplement ambassador for Eskayvie Sdn Bhd and that means taking the initiative to attend management meetings to help contribute ideas.

       On plans to retire, Aznil said he does not have any so far as he believes his presence in the industry is still needed.

       > A total of 60 media practitioners in Kedah and their families enjoyed a special Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration on the Tropical Charters Langkawi (TCL) cruise boat, reported Utusan Malaysia.

       TCL chief executive officer Datuk Alexander Isaac said the programme was held to give media practitioners and their families an opportunity to sail on the luxury cruise boat.

       He said that the three-hour sunset cruise on Saturday was also organised in appreciation of the media’s effort to promote the tourism industry in Langkawi.

       “The media has provided good coverage for tourism operators on the island,” he said.

       > The daily also reported that more than 100 families from three villages in Lata Rek, Kuala Krai, Kelantan, had been living in fear as 14 wild elephants had encroached on their village land. The wild elephants have been roaming the villages for food as their forest habitat is shrinking.

       The residents’ representative, Mohd Rizuman Hanafi, 37, said the villagers had to carry out night patrols to drive away the animals.

       He said the residents have lodged a complaint at the Department of Wildlife and National Parks of Peninsular Malaysia (Perhilitan) in Kelantan.
