Drivers on a stretch of the M6 were caught in major delays after a crash between two HGVs. Two lanes were closed after the smash which happened at about 6.15am today (May 9).
The incident happened between junctions 17 and 16, on the southbound carriageway, near Stoke-on-Trent with queues stretching past four miles during rush hour.
Traffic monitoring app Inrix is warned of 'heavy traffic' with an alert stating: "Two lanes closed and heavy traffic due to accident, two lorries involved on M6 southbound between J17 A534 Old Mill Road ( Sandbach / Crewe) and J16 A500 (Stoke-on-Trent / Crewe). Lanes one and two (of four) are closed."
