NIBONG TEBAL: A fire badly damaged a palm oil mill in Sungai Jawi, said the Penang Fire and Rescue Department.
The Department said they received a distress call just after midnight on Thursday (July 22).
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found that the fire involved the storage facility for raw palm oil at the mill.
“The fire had caused an estimated 60% damage to the 4,180 sq m facility. Control and extinguishing works are underway.
“No victims were reported involved,” the statement said.
The firemen from the Nibong Tebal fire station were assisted by the Sungai Bakap, Prai and Bayan Baru fire stations.
