A woman who was found shot inside a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Southeast Washington died at a hospital, according to D.C. police.

       Police identified the woman as Tarshaqua Chappell, 37, of Temple Hills, Md.

       Authorities said the shooting occurred about 11:50 a.m. The woman and vehicle were found in the 1300 block of Congress Street SE.

       No arrest has been made and no other details were released.

       Homicides in the District are up about 13 percent from this time last year.
