       Police are investigating two separate homicides in the District since Friday, police said Sunday.

       On Friday afternoon, a 35-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in Northwest Washington, police said.

       Officers were “flagged down” to an assault in the unit block of Florida Avenue NW at about 4:44 p.m. and found Chanae McLaughlin, of no fixed address, with stab wounds, police said. She was transported to a hospital, where she died from her injuries, police said.

       On Saturday evening, a 37-year-old man was fatally shot in Northeast Washington, police said.

       Officers had responded to a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of F Street NE at about 6:44 p.m. and found Kenneth Harris, of Northwest D.C., with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
