A COP has blasted "keyboard warriors" who moaned about diversions after a woman and two children died in a horror crash on the A64.

       The tragic 44-year-old was travelling in a motorhome with two young kids when they collided with a lorry on the carriageway.

       She was declared dead at the scene along with a girl, nine, and a five-year-old lad in Flaxton, North Yorks on Tuesday.

       The road was closed between Barton le Willows and Flaxton after the crash at around 8pm before reopening at 6.45am on Wednesday.

       It sparked a torrent of abuse and moaning online from motorists who were outraged at delays due to a police investigation.

       Their whinging prompted North Yorkshire Sergeant Paul Cording to slam them on Twitter.

       He wrote: "To those keyboard warriors who are armed with little or incorrect information complaining we should be sorting out diversions, I'm sorry (actually I'm not), but our priorities were elsewhere."

       'HEART ACHES'

       The cop added: "Not really sure where to start with this one apart from my heart aches for the family & friends of those involved in this devastating incident.

       "I attended this awful incident along with many other emergency services, colleagues.

       "And what I can say is I am humbled and privileged to work with such professional, dedicated and amazing people who all pull together in the most tragic of times.

       "A heartfelt thank you to you all (you know who you are).

       "Thank you all for your kind messages today it means a lot & if anyone needs a chat, brew or someone to sound off to then you know where I am."

       To those keyboard warriors who are complaining we should be sorting out diversions... our priorities were elsewhere.

       One person replied: "Can't begin to imagine what you & your colleagues witnessed last night.

       "So many tragic accidents happening lately.

       "You are all true professionals and there will always be some who moan about inconveniences."

       A six-year-old boy who was also in the motorhome was rushed to hospital with a serious head injury.

       The vehicle's driver, 48, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the crash.

       DEAD AT THE SCENE

       Police confirmed the HGV driver was not injured in the horror smash.

       A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Anyone who saw the fatal crash, has any dashcam footage or was travelling in the area at the time can call police on 101."
